"Living Chess" in the third European Market in Kirchheim im Innkreis Tuesday, 03.08.2010 - Gerda Strasser A ‘Giant Theater‘ in every sense of the word as the third Cultural Village exchange within Europe's Cultural Villages happens once more in Kirchheim im Innkreis. This time our visitors come from the English village of Aldeburgh (also known for its classical music festival), Tommerup (on the island of Fyn) in Denmark and Ströbeck "in Germany, famous for its chess.
Enjoy the European Market and sample the culinary delights from the participating countries and in addition all three countries will present their own theatrical performances. Ströbeck will present 32 people dressed as chess pieces to act out a “Live“ chess game on a giant chess board. The British and the Danes will also provide their own brand of entertainment.
The central workshop theme is “Local Supply in Rural Development“, including the phasing out (in 2013) of EU Support for Rural Development and: whether we should have in place strategies and measures to ensure that this development does not stop. Compared to the rest of Europe and in the subject of local services in rural areas, Austria is developing extremely well. This statement has also been repeatedly confirmed by the participants of previous Cultural Village meetings.
