We proudly invite you to participate, together with tens of other artists both professional and amateur, in the 4th edition of "Ezels and Kwasten aan Zee" in the week from thursday 19 till sunday 29 May 2005.

You can work indoors and outdoors aswell.  
 
Within the theme for this year "A Sea Of Sand", everything is possible. All evenings you can participate at very low cost at the convivial dinner.

Wijk aan Zee is located along the North Sea. At this part of the coast human work and effort come very close to the eternal sea. Until 1850 it was only fishing, wrecking and rabbit hunting. Later on the steel works were built and therefore activities in the port. Since the building of the North See Canal the development of recreation and tourism started.

There is a certain tention between the activity of man and sea, and during the last ten years we worked on this theme:

• We edited a book with poems and texts and a CD with songs 
• In 1999 11 sculptors made sculptures on the theme ‘Sea Of Steel’ 
• In 2000 sculptors made beach huts at the beach 
• Since 2002 we organize ‘Easels And Brushes’ for painters.

Participation is free for anyone who wants to join, professional of amateur.
We can offer a sleeping place and food to a number of participants. If you are interested, please let us know on the Registration Form.

For the thirst time this year there will be an Art Sale on Sunday 29th of May, where the paintings can be put up on the market.

A panel of judges will award three prizes of € 750, € 300 and € 200 respectively.

We expect that you yourself will bring the pencils, brushes and paint that you need.
We will care for multiplex.

Thursday May 19, 18.00 h: Welcoming of the participants and dinner.

Monday May 23, 22.00 h: Poets On The Sea; an experience on the beach.
Thursday May 26: Judging and prize giving / Concert.

Friday – Saturday : Exhibition of the works in Wijk aan Zee.
Sunday May 29: Art Sale.
