11 villages visit Brussels.

7th of june 2000 Representatives of 9 European villages: Aldeburgh, Bystré, Mellionnec, Paxos, Pergine Valdarno, Porrúa, Ströbeck Tommerup and Wijk aan Zee paid a visit to the European Parliament in Brussels.

Mrs. Marieke Sanders Ten Holte, Member of the European Parliament introduced the initiative Cultural Village of Europe into Europa. German, Greek, Dutch, Italian, French and Spanish Members of Parliament got acquaintance of the initiative of villages.

Mrs Sanders put questions to the Commission.

The villagers after the visit traveled to Mellionnec in Brittany. There they had a conference about "Ruralité et environnement". With this conference Mellionnec opened its activities for the year "Kreiz Breizh Cultural Village of Europe 2000.
